The Unconscious Puppet Master

There is an unconscious world that lurks in your mind. And as Carl Jung said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”
You need to foster a habit of deep introspection and begin to look at yourself as an unexplored world.
You do not know yourself just as you do not know others. The acts you are capable of will not often see the light of day, but whether they are made manifest or not, they lurk in your heart.
This alone is groundbreaking and is enough to change how you look at life.
I have spoken about this in many of the past Reflections, and I suggest you read some of those, especially We Don’t Know Each Other and Meekness, for context.
This letter shall solely address how to begin to know yourself.
Pay attention to your emotions and find their source. We often make peace with how we feel in complete disregard to why.
This is a grave mistake, for many things stem from beliefs our minds have constructed to protect us, most stemming from fear, trauma, and survival instinct.
Our minds will make connections that can often be destructive. We tend to assume that because X happened, it will happen again or that because Y keeps happening, we should live in fear that it will happen again, even in places where we know that impossible.
Pay attention to the stories your mind runs in the background and ensure they do not get out of hand, or soon neurosis will find its way into your mind.
These stories will often make themselves manifest in your dreams. Do not assume everything in a dream is of importance, but learn to recognize what has meaning; in many ways, you assign the meaning yourself, which can be a dangerous thing but also the greatest gift bestowed upon man (I will cover this in another essay).
One harmful story that I will see often and have some trouble with myself is martyrdom. Many people, including myself, will often over-romanticize martyrdom. Although it is noble to suffer for a cause greater than yourself, sometimes that suffering is unnecessary, and you are just suffering for suffering’s sake, and there is nothing noble about that; it is plain pitiful.
If unwanted things keep happening in your life, they are probably connected.
It is precisely that which seems to happen against your wishes that reveals the suppressed desires of your subconscious.
Pay attention to these events and make an effort to listen to them make an effort to make them conscious.
These stories guide your life, and if you can tap into them, you can begin to program yourself.
Your addiction could be an attempt to feel nothing at all or an attempt to feel something. It all depends on where it stems from, and you can only begin to treat it when you have found the source. Until then, you will call yourself indiscipline because you seem to exercise no control over your own life.
Perhaps you never seem to have time to start your business because you are afraid of what success and freedom will do to you until you realize that your calendar will continue to fill itself, and you will call it fate.
Knowing what is stopping you is paramount to your success.
I am always eager to help people uncover their unconscious, so feel free to reply to this email. I am also looking to connect with more of you as I prepare for a major product launch at the end of this year (shhhh), so if you consider yourself a fan, reach out for a sneak peek and discount.
